Go Greener steering committee

A steering committee has been established to coordinate the Go Greener campaign. The committee has been divided into the following groups. If you want to get involved, please feel free to contact anyone on the committee. In particular, if you want to be a faculty green rep please let us know!

The Go Greener campaign is being run in association with the Cambridge Climate Coalition.

Overall co-ordinator

University

The Ethical Affairs co-chairs are making progress with the University goals, and are continually in discussion with University officials. In particular, we are currently pushing for a working group to look at long-term goals to reduce carbon emissions, trying to achieve higher carbon emission reduction targets, get a review of University related air travel, and for more renewable energy. We are also looking in to how the University might exert a more positive influence on national and international policy.

Faculties/academic

This team is concentrating on a range of goals relating to the Faculty and University administration, as well as its teaching and research. In particular we are raising awareness of the Go Greener campaign within each faculty, and looking to recruit student sustainability representatives in all Faculties. (If you're interested in helping out with this in your own faculty, please contact Emily [emd39] ). We are also looking in to how the Universty can make a positive contribution to sustainability through its curriculum and its research.

Colleges

This team is focusing on the College side of the campaign, which is absolutely vital for improving Cambridge University's environmental performance. We are currently creating resources which people can use to campaign in their colleges. If you want to campaign in your college, get in touch with your Green Officer or send us an email.

Publicity and Events

This team is working to spread the word about the campaign, and on raising awareness about sustainability amongst the student population.
